DTS Software CTO Steve Pryor and Senior Software Developer Jerry Spencer to Deliver z/OS® Learning Sessions and Participate in Panel at SHARE Kansas City.

Raleigh-based global mainframe storage management software developer DTS Software today announced its participation at SHARE Kansas City 2024, August 4-8 at the Loews Kansas City Hotel. The event will feature technical sessions covering topics including DevOps, security, IT operations, storage management, professional development, and more.

CTO Steve Pryor will kick off DTS Software’s hosted presentations with “I’ve Got to Move How Much Tape Data? By When?” alongside JP Lavigne, TS7700 product manager at IBM on Monday, August 5 at 9:15 a.m. CT. The joint session will cover tape migration methodologies, migration programs, and best practices, including new techniques for moving data to the IBM TS7700 with maximum transparency to applications and minimum metadata updates. On Wednesday, August 7 at 10:00 a.m. CT, DTS CTO Steve Pryor will present “How Did That Dataset Get There???” The session will examine the process of DASD dataset creation, allocation, and device selection. Steve will also discuss how things can go wrong, and some of the tools that can be used to investigate and prevent errors. Later that day at 3:45 p.m. CT, DTS Senior Software Developer Jerry Spencer will participate in a panel discussion titled “A Review of Ways to Prevent Out-of-Space Abends”. Jerry along with panelists from other software vendors will provide brief outlines of their product offerings that address enterprise storage management needs and attendees will be invited to ask questions.
